liverpool cathedral asbestos removal

An historic Grade 1 listed cathedral

Our Solution:

Liverpool Cathedral isn’t just an instantly recognisable landmark – it’s also the largest religious building in Britain. Unfortunately, it was constructed at a time when the use of asbestos was common.

ACT were contacted in order to remove asbestos-containing insulation from around the cathedral’s priceless pipe organ. This challenging task required the protection of the delicate stonework and wooden wall carvings, which we achieved using carefully arranged coverings.

With careful planning begun months in advance, we were able to carry out the asbestos removal programme on time and within budget – all without any damage to this historic building.
